of the Food and Drug Law Institute
Dear Colleagues,
The year 2009 will be one of the most important years in our national history. Not since FDR has a new Administration faced so many challenges. With the economic crisis, two wars, international terrorism and healthcare-related issues, a major theme of this administration is change.
FDLI’s 2009 Annual Conference is all about change: Opportunities and Challenges Facing FDA & the New Administration. At this Conference, FDLI will welcome the new Administration, the 11th since FDLI was organized in 1949. We will present an engaging program designed to confront the most pressing FDA legal and regulatory issues. We will have dynamic interactive sessions that will tackle the major challenges related to food and drug law that our country will face, including sessions covering the opportunities for healthcare and nutrition.
We will also will hear from many of the key players about their view of the urgent issues and their priorities. FDLI’s Annual Conference traditionally brings together high ranking officials and representatives from FDA, including the Commissioner, Chief Counsel and Center directors. We will also invite members of Congress, and representatives from FTC, DOJ, USDA and HHS including CMS.
The 2009 Annual Conference marks FDLI’s 60th anniversary. Our goal is to hold a conference which is as engaging and intellectually stimulating as any past FDLI Conference, as we face the dawn of one of the most significant periods in our nation’s history. We ask that you please mark your calendars for April 22-23 and plan to be present with us in Washington, D.C. at this historic time and to take an active part in this noteworthy event.
