Eric M. Blumberg Memorial Lectures

When Eric M. Blumberg passed away in 2013, he had been the Deputy Chief Counsel for Litigation in the Office of the Chief Counsel, FDA, for 23 years. He oversaw all litigation relating to enforcement of the statutes administered by FDA and all defensive litigation arising out of FDA programs, and assisted the agency in its rapidly expanding enforcement initiatives. Mr. Blumberg nurtured the careers of dozens of food and drug lawyers and is remembered for his tenacity, determination, and passion for public health.

Established in 2014, the Eric M. Blumberg Memorial Lecture is delivered at FDLI’s annual Enforcement Conference to honor Blumberg’s many years of service with the FDA and recognize his legacy as a public servant.
