Administrative Coordinator, Education
The Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization that offers education, training, publications, and professional engagement opportunities in the field of food and drug law. As a neutral convener, FDLI provides a venue for stakeholders to inform innovative public policy, law, and regulation. FDLI’s scope covers all industries regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and related agencies and authorities in the U.S. and globally, including drugs, medical devices, biologics, food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, veterinary, tobacco and nicotine products, and cannabis-derived products.
The Administrative Coordinator, Education is an integral role at FDLI. This position supports the Education team by managing the day-to-day administrative activities associated with design, planning, and execution of conferences, webinars, courses, events, and publications. The position is a key part of a small team who design and implement all of FDLI’s educational content and reports to the Director, Education. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the field of FDA law and non-profit programs.
FDLI is a hybrid work environment composed of a strong, supportive team of 12 professionals. Employees primarily work from their home offices. This position will need to attend quarterly in-person meetings and regular, scheduled events in Washington, DC and must reside in the DC-metro area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Collaborate with FDLI staff on the execution of courses, webinars, conferences, and publications
- Schedule and attend planning calls on behalf of the program lead for webinars, conferences, and courses; write and distribute post-call summaries to participants
- Manage government speaker outreach through speaker portals and organizational relationships
- Assist in logistical aspects of FDLI virtual programs (introductory courses, webinars, conferences)
- Research potential speakers and companies/organizations for topics based on committee feedback and event needs
- Source images and create PowerPoint slides for courses and events
- Assist in the creation of marketing copy
- Analyze attendee and speaker data, and share findings with the Membership and Marketing teams
- Maintain the organizational event calendar
- Manage the digital platform hosting the annual law student writing competition
- Support the publication lifecycle for articles, books, and other publications as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of FDLI’s operations
QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERENCES
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and multitasking abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize, plan, schedule effectively, and balance changing priorities
- Ability to build relationships with staff, members, volunteers, as well as outside organizations
- Consistently demonstrate courteous, ethical, cooperative, accountable, and professional behavior to all contacts, internal and external
- Microsoft Office experience and ability to learn new programs
- Sense of humor

The starting base pay range is $48,000-$52,000 (if annualized, and based on a full-time schedule), dependent on experience, and includes a generous benefits package. The position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
