Join FDLI and your peers in the food and drug law community to discuss the Fall 2021 Update magazine article, “Can Food Labeling Policy Advance Health Equity?” at the next virtual Author Happy Hour. Authors Eva Greenthal and Sarah Sorscher, Center for Science in the Public Interest, will lead the discussion of topics presented in the article, including the deficiencies of past and proposed labeling initiatives designed without consideration of equity, opportunities in the design of future labeling policies, and limitations in labeling policies’ ability to advance health equity. This member-only benefit is limited to twenty attendees to encourage active dialogue in a virtual setting.

EVA GREENTHAL is a senior science policy associate at Center for Science in the Public Interest. Her work focuses on food labeling, scientific integrity, biotechnology, and more. Prior to joining CSPI, Eva led a pilot evaluation of the nation’s first hospital-based food pantry and worked on research initiatives related to alcohol literacy and healthy habits for young children. Eva holds a dual MS/MPH degree in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University and a BA in Environmental Studies from University of Michigan.
SARAH SORSCHER is Deputy Director of Regulatory Affairs at Center for Science in the Public Interest, where she works to improve consumers’ access to information about the food they eat, stop deceptive food advertising, and reduce or remove pathogens and other harmful contaminants in our food supply. Prior to joining CSPI she worked on health and safety issues at Public Citizen’s Health Research Group and served as a law clerk for the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. She holds a JD from the Harvard Law School, an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health, and a BA from Amherst College.
