Updates for 2021

FDLI remains committed to providing high-quality educational programs while keeping our members and event attendees safe during the current pandemic. With this in mind, we are excited to announce that the 2021 Food Advertising, Labeling, and Litigation Conference will be a virtual event. Please know we are actively exploring options to ensure an engaging and enjoyable experience with ample opportunities to connect with your peers. Be sure to check the course website regularly for additional announcements and updates.

Debate and public confusion abound about what manufacturers and retailers can and should say about the products we put into our bodies, often resulting in lengthy and time-consuming lawsuits or government actions.  Join FDLI for this virtual conference to learn from and interact with leading practitioners and thought leaders in the food and dietary supplement industries, law firms, public health organizations, and regulatory agencies, all of whom will address the biggest issues and challenges in industry advertising, labeling, and litigation.

Call For Proposals– Be CREATIVE!

FDLI invites food and dietary supplement industry stakeholders to submit a session proposal recommending a topic for the Food Advertising, Labeling, and Litigation Conference. Topics should be at an advanced level and focus on recent activity in food and dietary supplement advertising, labeling, litigation, or related areas.

  • Topics should be at an advanced level
  • Topics can relate specifically to food, dietary supplements, or both
  • Topics that include a variety of perspectives and viewpoints, including government, industry, private attorneys, academics, and consumer interest are preferred.
  • FDLI is committed to supporting, promoting, and celebrating diversity and inclusion in the food and drug law programs. To that end, proposals addressing systematic or historical impacts on health disparities and racial equity in relation to all areas of the FDA-regulated community are strongly encouraged.
  • Preference will be given to sessions that are designed to be interactive and/or allow for schedule flexibility to enhance a virtual format
    • Examples: polling, pre-recorded remarks with real-time Q&A, or interactive case studies (do not feel limited to these suggestions; creativity is encouraged).
  • We prefer submissions to include a reasonably detailed and thoughtful title for and description of the proposed session.

Proposal Reminders

  • Multiple submissions from the same person or organization are welcome, but each proposal requires its own form.
  • All submissions are treated as recommendations, and proposals may be modified or combined by FDLI to best suit the needs of the conference.
  • All submissions must be received through the submission portal.
  • Speaking opportunities are generally reserved for FDLI members.

Proposal Submission Timeline

  • May 21: Call for Proposals closes.
  • July: Those who submitted proposals will be notified of their submission’s status at the beginning of July.
