FDLI is pleased to invite members to our next virtual “Author Happy Hours” to discuss the article, “How Will FDA Regulate Disease-Sniffing Dogs?,” published in the Fall 2020 issue of Update magazine. Dogs can be trained to detect certain conditions and diseases that are conventionally detected using FDA-approved diagnostics; however, FDA regulation of animal-based diagnostics is unclear. Join Baker Botts authors Makenzie Galvan and Matthew Avery and your peers in the food and drug law community to discuss FDA’s approach to regulating animal-based diagnostics, the impact on developers seeking approval to market their diagnostic tests, and possible changes to the current regulatory regime. Be prepared to ask the authors questions and engage in a dialogue on these and other topics presented in the article, all while enjoying your favorite beverage. This member-only benefit will be limited to twenty attendees to encourage active dialogue in a virtual setting.
