Committee Service

Expectations for service on an FDLI committee may vary depending on the committee. Generally:

  • Committee service requires a commitment of between 5 – 15 hours a year
    • For conference committees, this commitment may occur over a shortened period of time to plan for the conference
    • The committees meet via online meeting platforms, email, and conference call
  • Terms for FDLI Committees are one year, generally January – December
    • Publications committee involvement spans the entire year
    • Conference committee involvement is most heavily focused during the six months prior to a conference
  • In addition to supporting FDLI, committee participation allows you the opportunity to connect with other FDLI members from across the community

Important Nomination Information:

  • FDLI members are encouraged to nominate themselves
    • If nominating someone else, please ensure that the person has agreed to be nominated
  • Nominations for multiple committees are accepted
    • Please fill out a separate form for each committee nomination
  • Committee members must be FDLI members, unless you are a current government employee
