STEPHANIE K. BARNES is the Editor of Update magazine and a Member of the Foods Team. Prior to joining FDLI, Stephanie was a law clerk at a number of organizations, including; The American Beverage Association, the US Environmental Protection Agency, Environmental Working Group and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Stephanie graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Political Science. She attended Wayne State University Law School and Georgetown University Law Center and graduated cum laude in 2011. Stephanie is admitted to the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

CARRIE E. COLE is the Assistant Controller. Carrie is responsible for financial analysis and statement coordination and support, general ledger control and maintenance, and payroll and benefit processing. Prior to joining FDLI, Carrie worked in the Finance Department with the National Food Processors Association (now Grocery Manufacturers Association). She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from George Mason University.

REGAN E. FRANKLIN is Assistant for Product Implementation, Conferences and Publications. Prior to joining FDLI, Regan worked for several organizations in and out of the legal arena, including; The Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital, Animators At Law, Kutak Rock . Regan graduated from Skidmore College, cum laude (American Studies) and then went on to earn her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. Regan is admitted to the Bar in Washington, DC.

DANIEL E. HART is Assistant for Product Implementation. In this role, he assists in the production of FDLI’s conferences and publications. Previously, he served as an associate editor for a technology publication. Dan earned a BA in English from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

DAVID C. JANES is Director of Information Technology. Mr. Janes previously worked for the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiologic Health (CDRH) as a programmer helping to develop tracking systems for Investigational Device Exemptions and on adverse event reporting and as an IT support technician for various computer support contractors. He has a B.A. in Computer Science from the College of Wooster.

ERIN M. JONES is Vice President of Membership and Marketing. Erin is responsible for membership growth and retention by implementing strategic initiatives and collaborating with the Institute's product development and implementation departments on marketing communications. She serves as the staff liaison for the Academic Programs and Writing Awards Committees and leads the Institute's Technology Initiative. Prior to joining FDLI, Erin was the Director of Membership, Marketing and Programs for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), a national trade association providing educational and advocacy assistance to innovative and entrepreneurial medical technology companies. For more than five years, she led MDMA's business development activities; creating greater awareness of the association by generating membership growth and creating strategic partnerships. Erin also managed MDMA's national programs and regional conferences. Prior to MDMA, Erin served on the 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee as the liaison between the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee and the Inaugural Parade Committee. Prior to her service on the Committee, Erin was the Missouri Events Director for the Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign. She managed and helped develop all state-wide programs including Presidential and Vice Presidential events. She also directed earned media and grassroots events with state-wide candidates. Erin began her career serving on the staff of Senator Jim Talent (R-MO). Erin earned her degree in political science from the University of Missouri and marketing certificate from Georgetown University.

JENNIFER A. KANE is the Editor of the Food and Drug Law Journal and a member of the Medical Products and Tobacco Team. Previously, Jenny served as a law clerk at the National Association of Broadcasters and at the National Endowment for the Arts, Office of General Counsel. Jenny has also worked for The Honorable Walter S. Felton, Jr., Chief Judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals and served as a volunteer at the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia. Jenny graduated from William and Mary School of Law (J.D.), Columbia University (B.A., English and Comparative Literature) and Phillips Exeter Academy. Jenny is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

MICHAEL LEVIN-EPSTEIN is Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President for Product Development. Levin-Epstein previously worked at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as associate editor for newsletter development and as a senior managing editor for newsletters at Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. While at the Bureau of National Affairs, Levin-Epstein served as head of conferences and special products and associate editor of more than dozen publications, including several in the health care division, which he was responsible for launching. Levin-Epstein has a B.A. from Union College, M.Ed. from American University and J.D. from the University of Illinois Law School.

KHARA L. MINTER is Conference Manager and Foods Team member. Khara is responsible for developing and implementing FDLI products and services for the food, dietary supplements, cosmetics and veterinary medicine community. She serves as the staff liaison for the Foods and Dietary Supplements Committee and participates on the Institute’s Partnership Initiative. Prior to joining FDLI, Khara was the Meetings Manager for the Optical Society (OSA), the leader for optics and photonics, bringing together the global optics community through its events, publications and initiatives. She managed and planned conferences, webinars, special events and workshops for optic and photonic scientists and engineers. Prior to OSA, Khara was the Meeting Planner for the American Anthropological Association (AAA), the world’s largest organization of individuals interested in anthropology, where she planned and organized the association’s city wide annual conference and special events. Khara began her career with the Law Offices of William L. Taylor and the Citizen’s Commission on Civil Rights (CCCR). Khara earned her B.A. in mass media & public relations from Hampton University.

DAVINA S. ROSEN MARANO is Conference Manager and a Member of the Medical Products and Tobacco Team. Davina is responsible for program development and implementation, working closely with committee leadership, speakers and planning committees. She also serves as Editor of FDLI’s Food and Drug Policy Forum, and helps select authors and topics. Prior to joining FDLI, Davina worked for four years as a Medical Malpractice defense attorney at the law firm Young & McGilvery, P.C., in Pennsylvania. Davina has a B.A. in Psychology from Drew University, an M.S. in General/Experimental Psychology from Villanova University, and a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law. Davina has authored: “Balancing Business & National Health: The Impact of Legislation on Pharmaceutical Drug Prices,” 26 Temp. J. Sci. Tech. & Envtl. L. 341 (2007); “The Effects of Age on the Contingent Capture of Visual Attention in Space and Time,” Villanova University Master's Thesis (2005); and “Amygdala Abnormality and Its Role in Autistic Socio-Emotional Impairment,” Concept: Interdisciplinary Graduate Journal, Villanova University, 2004. Davina is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia (pending).

CATHY M. SCOLIERI is Senior Director of Implementation. She is responsible for overseeing implementation of FDLI's conferences and publications. Prior to joining FDLI four years ago, Cathy began her career planning conferences for the Contract Services Association in Rosslyn, VA, and served as a campaign coordinator for the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Cathy earned her BA in communications from Duquesne University.

MICHAEL M. SPROTT is the Customer Service Manager. During his 14 years with FDLI, Michael has been helping FDLI’s members and customers with membership renewals, publication orders, conference registration and all other inquiries. Michael serves on the Institute’s Membership Retention and Development Initiative and was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee in 2010.

IRIS V. STRATTON, CPA is Senior Vice President, Finance, Administration. Ms. Stratton serves in the capacity of the chief financial officer and has oversight responsibilities for the staff supporting the financial reporting, human resources, administrative operations and technology service functions for the organization. She coordinates the Institute's budgeting process and is the primary liaison with the Institute's independent auditors. She serves as the staff liaison for the Finance and Audit Committees. Prior to joining FDLI, she was the Director, Contract Financial Services and a member of the senior management team with the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). FASEB is a scientific and educational coalition representing 24 societies and over 100,000 biological and biomedical researchers throughout the world. Ms. Stratton has a public accounting background and is an actively licensed Certified Public Accountant. She graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
